I think this is actually the very first time a vendor has requested feedback on a purchase *after* the item is delivered. Until now the feedback request are always whilst I am still waiting for my delivery and so i never give one. Thanks Atowak for knowing how to run an internet business! They have good customer service responding to my questions promptly. Keep it up please.
(Hang on is is just suppose to be about the coupon? That's the question in the email here?) Okay never the less. I will cover the next feedback request for the Cobra watch now too.
Yes the coupon worked fine. I did inquire about when I was going to able to use it (it was a tad concerning) . They got back to me promptly before I completed the checkout.
Okay, now about the watch.
It sits pretty tall. I feel for me it is more suited to a dress shirt but good luck with how comfortable that will end up being and it's not really sporty enough for short sleeves (it's very shiny) It's Diameter and overall shape is not too big for my 6 and a half inch (17cm) wrist. Irish wrist-watch, Irish wrist-watch (it's a good one to say fast). The Cobra is not too oversized look and it is without lugs too.
The bracelet kind of suits it better and counter balances the weight a lot better. It is a top heavy watch. I was considering buy a carbon link bracelet, however the only options are to modify a Pitaka for apple and Samsung etc watches. U could investment in a H2O Carbon Bracelet (again modify it. These are pretty chunky. Reminds me too much of a a paracord bracelet and the orientation of the twill pattern isn't very carbon fiber looking but eh chunky-ness of the links might suit the Cobra. I also found Zenith Defy classic has a shredded carbon looking strap/bracelet and I think there are some other companies that would be super expensive that have experimented with carbon link straps like Richard Mille etc but Lets face it the Atowak Cobra has a lot going on visually with textures so maybe something really plain & simple best suits it. I have ordered a Formex Carbon clasp for the mean time and I will make some different textured leather straps. (Continue below)
I think something without the stitching so it looks wide enough for the watch. It should start wider at the lugless end 25mm and taper down to 22mm. And/or something padded/raised that flows a bit better. I mean they have the leather strap (Is it? Noo it's not LOL) you could use but it's just not designed for this watch. The very oval/round, bubbly shape of the padded strap does not match the sharp, geometric form of the watch. That is just my opinion and we all know about opinions now don't we.
I absolutely *love* the quick release for the strap/bracelet. I don't understand how it is actually comfortable on the wrist due to how sharp everything is under there but it is not yet noticeable. The crown does not feel robust. Something along the lines of what is used in my Sinn EZM 12 would be nice.
So the strap and bracelet are too cheap looking for the watch. I would not say it's over priced. It's a pretty fair deal. You get what you pay for here. They are not trying to be Urwerk. it's much less abstract and futuristic. Maybe the Urwerk style cloth strap would work better on the Cobra. It does not look like a knock-off. They are doing their own thing here and it's the best of what else is out there in the market/s in this category/genre. It could use a Tonne more lume. Honestly why even bother when you consider what other watches have. But then again you would not be able to see which number the minute hand it is pointing at anyways haha. The addition of a second hand would not be over doing it or something spinning ( balance escapement wheel) etc, but yeh it functions as it should and keeps the time as expected. Oh and the Carbon Fiber twill should all be going in the same direction rather than book matched. It's not going to detract for the symmetry of the watch.
My expectations were exceeded actually. So I am all smiles. I really like it. I look forward to the future. I would buy another watch from these guys.
Kudos to you.
